Hiking to Figure 8 Pools in Australia was such an adventure! Passing through the Palm Jungle 😬 with bushland everywhere definitely kept me on edge 🤣 especially thinking about the 🐍😅. It’s a long and challenging hike, but very safe and well marked — honestly much more structured compared to Mauritius.
The Figure 8 Pools are truly a must-see, just like our beautiful spots back home such as Gris Gris or Albion Pool 😍🤩🇦🇺🇲🇺

😱 I never thought I would encounter a snake while hiking in Australia, especially since I was told that places with lots of visitors are usually safe. As a guide myself—and coming from Mauritius, where we don’t have snakes—I’m always careful and aware of my surroundings.
After doing some research, I found out that this was a mustard-bellied snake, which is venomous. I spotted it at Empress Falls in the Blue Mountains. 🐍⛰️
