Los Voladores de Papantla. 🎐
Los Voladores de Papantla no son solo un arte popular que podemos encontrar en Puerto Vallarta. Son un antiguo rito de fertilidad de la cultura totonaca. La historia cuenta que, tras una intensa sequía, cinco jóvenes escalaron el árbol más alto para pedirle lluvia a los dioses.
Este ritual guarda un profundo significado cósmico. Cuatro voladores representan los puntos cardinales y los elementos naturales: tierra, viento, fuego y agua. Arriba, el caporal simboliza el centro del universo.
The Papantla Flyers 🎐
The Voladores de Papantla are not just a folk art form found in Puerto Vallarta. They are an ancient fertility rite of the Totonac culture. The story goes that, after a severe drought, five young men climbed the tallest tree to ask the gods for rain.
This ritual holds profound cosmic significance. Four of the flyers represent the cardinal directions and the natural elements: earth, wind, fire, and water. At the top, the caporal symbolizes the center of the universe.
