Vietnam Entry Update – Ho Chi Minh City (Important Notice)
Effective from: 15 April 2026
To improve arrival procedures and reduce waiting time at immigration, Vietnam has introduced a mandatory online pre-arrival declaration for eligible travelers.

This requirement currently applies to:
Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), Ho Chi Minh City
(Implementation at other airports may follow)

👤 Who is required to submit
The following travelers must complete the online declaration:
• All foreign passport holders
(including visa-free entry, e-visa, and visa-on-arrival travelers)
• Overseas Vietnamese entering Vietnam with a valid visa

🚫 Who is exempted
• Vietnamese passport holders
• Transit passengers who remain in the airside transit area (no immigration clearance)

📝 Information to prepare
Please have the following details ready before filling in the form:
• Full name (exactly as shown in passport)
• Passport number and nationality
• Visa details (e-visa number or visa exemption category)
• Flight information (airline and flight number)
• Accommodation details in Vietnam (hotel name and address)

Step 1: Access the official portal

Select “Create & Submit Pre-arrival Information”
Step 2: Fill in your details
Enter all required information, including:
• Personal and passport details
• Flight information
• Accommodation in Vietnam
• Visa information
⚠️ Ensure all details are accurate and match your passport
Step 3: Submit the form
Review carefully before submission
Step 4: Save your QR Code (Important)
After submission, a personal QR Code will be generated

• Save a screenshot on your phone
• Or download the PDF copy
• It is strongly recommended to print a backup copy

✈️ Upon arrival in Vietnam
At immigration, please present:
• Your passport
• Valid visa (if applicable)
• Your pre-arrival QR Code
The QR code may be scanned to verify your information and help speed up the clearance process.
