Community conservation is at the heart of sustainable tourism. Through ARU lodges' conservation concessions, local communities benefit from employment, skills development, and economic opportunities while helping safeguard vast wilderness areas for future generations.

By protecting these landscapes, we preserve critical wildlife habitats, support biodiversity, and ensure that conservation creates lasting value for both people and nature. Every stay contributes to a model where thriving communities and thriving ecosystems go hand in hand.

Being wild and free unfortunately comes at cost, but we will do what is needed for the betterment of the species. Here is some behind the scenes footage of how we darted, collared and relocated our rhinos to protect and preserve them for generations to come.
Thank you to DSC Foundation for their generous donation to make this project happen, you have giving more than just a donation, you've given hope.

Today on World Biodiversity Day, we celebrate the incredible diversity of wildlife and wild spaces that make Africa so extraordinary.

As the custodians of this land, conservation is our main responsibility, and ethical, sustainable hunting directly funds the maintenance for wildlife conservation, anti-poaching efforts, habitat management, and the protection of the ecosystems that countless species depend on, from predators and plains game to birds, insects, and plant life.

Our commitment to conservation is reflected in the remarkable diversity found across the ARU, showcasing the richness and balance of the habitats we work to preserve for future generations.

This World Biodiversity Day, we honour this land, the wildlife, and the shared responsibility to protect it all.

This World Bee Day, we’re celebrating a sweet new chapter at ARU Safari Lodges. Our 10 hives are now thriving across the land, and we’ve officially begun harvesting our very own honey, crafted by our busiest residents.

More than just the honey, this journey is about protecting pollinators, supporting biodiversity, and giving back to the wild spaces we call home.

Here’s to the bees and the beauty of sustainable living.

For Endangered Species Day, we are incredibly proud to share a landmark milestone in our rhino program. Our dedicated conservation team, alongside expert partners, successfully collared 22 white rhinos for precise individual tracking and long term monitoring. This groundbreaking effort allows us to closely monitor their movements, health, and safety across our vast Namibian landscape.

In addition, 8 of these magnificent animals were successfully translocated to Veronica, a significant step in expanding safe rhino habitats and strengthening population sustainability across the region.

Every collar fitted, every microchip placed, and every translocation completed is a powerful statement that we refuse to let these ancient giants disappear. 🦏✨

Together, we are rewriting the future for white rhinos in Namibia.

Well now, gather ‘round and lend an ear 🤠

Out here in the wild heart of the Namibian Kalahari, tucked inside ARU Veronica Safari Lodge, stands a saloon like no other, weathered, proud, and full of stories that stretch further than the desert horizon.

They say she was built from the bones of lost ships, dragged in from the treacherous west coast waters where the oceans don’t rest easy. Every plank’s got a past, every beam’s heard the stories of hunters that roam these lands.
For years on years, this old watering hole’s been hostin’ travelers, drifters, and wanderers alike, offering cold drinks, warm laughter, and tales spun thicker than desert dust. Step inside and you’ll hear the floorboards creak like a ship at sail, smell the faint whisper of salt in the air, and feel like you’ve ridden straight into another time.

So hitch your horse, partner… there’s a seat at the bar waitin’ just for you.

Kalahari Sunset by Sam Kimberle

'The greatest thirst
the white in your eye
turns to grey
loosing life
before the sun sets.

We are not in
a truly a waterless place —
the acacia trees thrive,
and the meerkat dance
along the dunes.

The sunset reflects
upon the red sands
oranges and yellows,
like you are returning
to the fire
within your spirit.

Dance with the fire
the dance
of the Sun Goddesses.

Dance freely in the Power
of Nature to ignite
every bone in your body
to surrender

and return
as the white in your eye
turns to red.'
