A little bit about last weekend.

WIKA brought Windhoek to life with colour, music, parades, and nonstop energy. From the first celebrations to the final moments, the city was filled with pride, laughter, and community spirit.

A highlight for us was seeing our team there too. Joining the celebrations, supporting the event, and sharing in a tradition that means so much to Windhoek. Moments like these bring people together and remind us how strong local spirit runs.

Windhoek knows how to celebrate, and WIKA proved that once again.

World Wildlife Day 🌿
This year’s theme highlights Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.

One of Namibia’s most well-known healing plants is Devil's Claw, which grows in the sandy soils of the Kalahari and eastern regions.

For generations, San communities used its tuber roots to ease pain, reduce inflammation and treat digestive discomfort. The knowledge of this plant forms part of Namibia’s living cultural heritage.

In the wild, Devil’s Claw depends on animals for survival. Its hooked seed pods attach to passing antelope such as oryx, springbok and kudu. As these animals move across the landscape, the pods fall off and spread the seeds in new areas.

This natural partnership between plant and wildlife keeps the cycle going.

Protecting biodiversity means protecting culture, knowledge and ecological balance.

Senior Diesel Mechanic

• Part of an independent workshop team
• Service and maintain the business-owned fleet
• Strong focus on preventative maintenance
• Fleet readiness for international guests
• Direct impact on safety, reliability, and presentation

Qualifications
• Matric Grade 12 Certificate
• National Trade Certificate as Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum 8 years experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
• Leadership experience within a team
• Valid Code C driver’s licence
• PDP Public Drivers Permit

The candidate must be willing to
• Travel on breakdowns across Namibia
• Handle standby and afterhours duty

Requirements
• Proficient in English and Afrikaans
• Strong performance under pressure
• Practical problem-solving skills
• Independent, positive, dedicated mindset
• High service mentality
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
