Diwali (Tihar) is one of the largest Hindu festivals,
celebrated worldwide. The festival, held every year in the fall, is a return to ancient times when the end of the summer harvest period was celebrated with great pomp and splendor.
Diwali (Tihar), which means "Festival of Lights," signifies the triumph of light over darkness and the victory of good over evil. Legend has it that on this day, Lord Rama – one of the avatars of the Hindu god, Vishnu – returned home victorious after 14 years of exile. To illuminate the path they return on and to guide them on their way home, people light candles (paper lamps) everywhere, and the world bathes in the golden light!
For others, Diwali is the festival of Goddess Lakshmi, who is believed to bring wealth and prosperity. In many households, the celebration includes the worship of the goddess (imāt) to pray for health and happiness, and lasts for five days. This period is also the time of the annual Indian gold rush, as buying gold or silver is considered lucky before Diwali (Tihar).

ANAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK + P**N HILL TREK
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is a very popular and breathtaking trail that leads hikers into the heart of the Annapurna Mountains. The trek starts from Pokhara, passing through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and lush rhododendron forests, with waterfalls and rivers along the way. Upon reaching P**n Hill (3210m), we reach the base of Annapurna, located at an altitude of 4130 meters above sea level. The camp offers panoramic views of the Annapurna massif, including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7219m), Annapurna III (7555m), Fishtail (6997m), Himchuli (6441m).

According to Nepali tradition, the Kukur Tihar or Kukur Puja is a festival dedicated to the most loyal friend and guardian of humans. In Hinduism, the dog is considered a sacred animal, meant to accompany humans on their journey to heaven. During the Kukur Tihar, dogs are treated with special love and reverence. Each is adorned with a flower garland or a "malla" made of flowers, rice, and yogurt. This symbolizes their sacredness. The dogs' favorite part of the festival is to lick various delicacies from fruits and desserts, starting with eggs, milk, cheese, meat, and high-quality dog food. On this occasion, there are no exceptions - every dog, whether domestic or stray, receives special treatment. Even the Nepali police dogs can experience the festive atmosphere. In addition to receiving a day off and general holidays, they also participate in a special parade organized for this occasion.
