Kia ora and Mabuhay! Meet David, LIKHA’s travel designer, host and guide. ✨

He is a proper Kiwi road trip kind of guy with a very Pinoy heart. Relaxed, easygoing and always up for a good yarn, David brings plenty of warmth and good energy wherever he goes.

Every year, David and his wife, Kathreen, make time to travel around New Zealand together. They love seeking out premium experiences, trying new activities and staying in premium accommodation. One example was their visit to Grasmere High Country Experience, where they enjoyed the premium accommodation and experienced the high country activities for themselves. It is their way of finding places they can confidently recommend and share with their guests. Wherever David goes exploring, Kathreen is always right there beside him.

When David hosts, everyone is looked after, every little detail matters and guests are treated like family.

Now for the fun bit. David is absolutely fishing mad. He will happily travel from Queenstown to the Coromandel twice in one month just to get out on the water. His best catch so far is 85 cm snapper.

But after ten years of fishing, he still has not caught a kingfish. Not one. Poor fella. The chase continues, mate.

He is also a bit watch mad, which probably explains the wrist shot in this photo.

Next on David and Kathreen’s travel list? Japan, where they will be seeing Bruno Mars live and enjoying another brilliant adventure together.

Meet Kathreen, LIKHA’s host and local expert. ✨

Kathreen is someone who will make you feel welcomed when you meet her. Warm and genuinely caring, she has a real passion for hospitality and customer service. For Kathreen, it is never just about taking guests from one place to another. It is about making sure they feel comfortable, cared for and part of the family.

She loves getting outdoors and exploring New Zealand on foot. Kathreen has completed plenty of beautiful hikes, but the Tongariro Alpine Crossing remains the one she will never forget. The challenge, the scenery and the feeling of completing one of the great walks is something she considers special.

Her love for New Zealand is at the heart of the way she hosts. She wants every guest to experience New Zealand in the same way that made her fall in love with it. Its breathtaking scenery, local hospitality and the culture that makes everyone who visits feel connected whether it’s with the people, the scenery and to themselves.

Kathreen firmly believes that a great day of exploring should always include three things: a good coffee break, delicious food and beautiful views. Even better if she can enjoy all three at once.

Next on Kathreen’s travel list? South Korea! She is looking forward to experiencing the culture, check skin care products and EAT a lot!!
