When I started solo traveling, I just wanted to fulfill my childhood dream of seeing the world. There weren’t many women doing it back then.

What I didn’t expect? Building sisterhood on every continent. Turns out women now make up 84% of solo travelers.

Shoutout to my friends I met up with this summer — old and new. Thank you for your stories, your laughs, your energy. Turns out “solo travel” never really feels solo. 💖

This was the first national park in the US to allow cars back in 1907. People had already been hiking it for years before cars even showed up.

This is also one of the oldest National Parks in United States!

My favorite pics from the glacier hike🧊

A few fun facts while you swipe: this is Alaska’s largest glacier accessible by road — about 27 miles long and four miles wide. It’s also one of the oldest. Wild to think about while standing on it!

Couldn’t even see it because it was sooo foggy!

We hiked the most popular trail in Anchorage. It didn’t feel crowded though… maybe because it was a weekday? The parking lot looked full though.

Some areas were so steep that it looked super sketchy

I saw all these wildflowers and insisted that we take photos 😆

They’re so prettyyy 😍

I’m nervous about hiking solo in bear country. First time carrying bear spray. I mean, we have black bears in California, and can shoo them away like raccoons (the ones in Yosemite need more convincing sometimes though). But here in Alaska especially on this trail, we might have encountered Black bears or Grizzlies 🐻

Thankfully I hiked with a friend!! In the parking lot she asked me, “Do you want to carry your own bear spray or should I carry one for both of us?” 😅

Can’t wait to explore more of Alaska!
