1. Lighthouse of Alexandria

Ankh o Ang es un jeroglífico egipcio que significa "vida". El Ankh o Cruz Egipcia, también conocida como “Llave de la Vida”, es uno de los amuletos más importantes, junto con el Ojo de Horus y el Escarabajo, en la cultura del antiguo Egipto. Este antiguo símbolo egipcio representa la dualidad entre la vida y la muerte. El origen se remonta a la antigua civilización egipcia. Se asocia comúnmente con el dios Anubis (dios de la muerte y la vida después de la muerte) y se considera un símbolo de protección y poder divino.
Este ankh aparece en representaciones artísticas de los egipcios y en las manos de los dioses como un amuleto egipcio para asegurar protección y salud en esta vida y en la otra vida.
Sin embargo, existen varias teorías sobre su nacimiento conceptual. Algunos estudiosos creen que simboliza el sol saliendo en el horizonte, mientras que otros creen que representa la unión de los principios masculino y femenino, lo que indica la creación de la vida.
Aunque no existe un consenso claro sobre su origen exacto. El símbolo es omnipresente en el arte, la arquitectura y los artefactos. Muchos dioses y diosas lo llevaban en sus jeroglíficos, lo que indica su amplia aceptación y profunda importancia en su sociedad.
La asociación con el sol significa que el ankh se pinta tradicionalmente en oro, el color del sol, y nunca en el color plateado asociado con la luna. Su similitud con la forma de la llave nos da una idea de otro significado de este símbolo mágico.
