• LOS ANDENES•

Una característica común en las construcciones incaicas y pre incaicas. ¿Qué rol cumplían?

1️⃣ Ampliación de la frontera agrícola: Permitían cultivar en pendientes pronunciadas donde sería imposible sembrar de otra forma, ganando terreno productivo en una geografía muy accidentada.
2️⃣Control de la erosión y el agua: Las paredes de piedra evitaban que las lluvias lavaran los nutrientes del suelo y causaran deslizamientos. Además, funcionaban como un sistema de gestión hídrica que aprovechaba mejor el riego y la humedad.
3️⃣Gestión microclimática: La piedra y la tierra acumulaban calor durante el día y lo liberaban de noche. Esto elevaba la temperatura del suelo unos grados, protegiendo los cultivos (como el maíz) de las heladas nocturnas de las zonas altas.

• THE TERRACES • A common feature in Inca and pre-Inca constructions. What role did they play?

1️⃣ Expansion of the agricultural frontier: They allowed cultivation on steep slopes where planting would otherwise be impossible, gaining productive land in a very rugged landscape.
2️⃣ Erosion and water control: The stone walls prevented rainwater from washing away soil nutrients and causing gradual erosion. They also functioned as a water management system that made better use of irrigation and moisture.
3️⃣ Microclimatic management: The stone and earth accumulated heat during the day and released it at night. This raised the soil temperature by a few degrees, protecting crops (such as corn) from nighttime frosts in the highlands.

• KAYAK en el LAGO HUAYPO •

Remar en el lago Huaypo es una pausa necesaria. A pocos kilómetros de Cusco, este espejo de agua rodeado de montañas y campos abiertos invita a moverse sin prisa. El kayak avanza suave, mientras el viento y el silencio marcan el ritmo. Es un lugar hermoso y con la calma suficiente para desconectar y mirar el paisaje con otros ojos.

• CAMINO INCA A MACHU PICCHU- 2 DIAS •

Para los viajeros aventureros que cuentan con menos días de viaje, el Camino Inca corto es una excelente opción 🙌ya que logras recorrer una fracción de esta ruta (el últmo tramo de 13 Kms), pasando por el sitio aruqeológico de Wiñay Wayna 🗿, bordeando el río Vilcanota desde la parte alta con vistas increíbles a todo el valle, y por último, atraviesas la mística Puerta del Sol para ingresar a la ciudadela✨.

• INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU - 2 DAYS • For adventurous travelers with fewer days to travel, the short Inca Trail is an excellent option. You’ll hike a portion of the route (the final 13 km stretch), passing through the archeaological site of Wiñay Wayna 🗿, skirting the Vilcanota River from above with incredible views of the entire valley, and finally, crossing through the mystical Sun Gate to enter the citadel☀️.

• WAQRAPUKARA: HIKE 1 DIA•

La fortaleza con forma de cuerno de toro, en quechua “Waqrapukara” asoma en medio de las montañas de Acomayo, bordeando el cañón del río Percca, a. unos 4.300 metros de altura. Su construcción es atribuida a la cultura preincaica llamada Canchis. Luego tomada también por el Imperio Incaico, al expandir sus dominios en el siglo XII.
Es posible acceder a través de un hike que inicia partiendo de Cusco en auto por 3 horas hasta la comunidad campesina de Huayqui. La caminata desde ese punto es de 7.5 kms hasta el sitio arqueológico (aproximadamente 2 horas de caminata). El retorno se hace por la misma ruta.

• WAQRAPUKARA: HIKE 1 DAY•
The fortress shaped like a bull’s horn, in Quechua “Waqrapukara” appears in the middle of the Acomayo mountains, bordering the canyon of the Percca River, BC. about 4,300 meters high. Its construction is attributed to the pre-Inca culture called Canchis. Later also taken over by the Inca Empire, when it expanded its domains in the 12th century. It is possible to access it through a hike that starts from Cusco by car for 3 hours to the farming community of Huayqui. The walk from that point is 7.5 km to the archaeological site (approximately 2 hours of walking). The return is made by the same route.

• NUEVOS DESTINOS: 2026•

Sentimos que nuestro compromiso con la desmasificación de algunos destinos, donde ahora mismo se generan más problemas que soluciones al traer más turustas, debe ser real y fiel a nuestra misión.
Por eso el 2026 dejaremos de ofrecer algunos de ellos y nos enfocaremos en nuevas rutas, donde su contacto con la naturaleza y la cultural local tendrá -como siempre hemos querido- un beneficio general 💪🏼.
Algunas rutas nuevas que promocionaremos son:
- Pallay Punchu
- Cañón de Tinajani
- Visita a Tiahuanaco
- Trek de Ausangate (no es nueva pero queremos darle fuerza).
-También iniciaremos retiros en el Valle Sagrado y localidades cercanas. Con el máximo respeto por las tradiciones y ritos autóctonos.
¡Esperamos que esto les motive a hacernos consultas y que pronto se animen a sumarse a estas nuevas aventuras! 🏔️

We feel that our commitment to reducing overcrowding in certain destinations, where bringing in more tourists is currently creating more problems than solutions, must be genuine and true to our mission 🤝.
Therefore, in 2026 we will discontinue offering some of these destinations and focus on new routes, where your connection with nature and local culture will have—as we have always intended—a general benefit 💪🏼. Some of the new routes we will be promoting are:
- Pallay Punchu
- Tinajani Canyon
- Visit to Tiahuanaco
- Ausangate Trek (not new, but we want to promote it). - We will also begin offering retreats in the Sacred Valley and nearby areas, with the utmost respect for local traditions and rituals.

• CAMINO INCA A MACHU PICCHU •

Esta ruta, parte de la red de caminos Inca llamada Qhapaq Ñan, incluye 4 días de caminata, atravesando paisajes montañosos, bosques nubosos y sitios arqueológicos, como Wiñay Wayna.
La ruta culmina en la Puerta del Sol, uno de los ingresos a Machu Picchu, desde donde es posible disfrutar de vistas panorámicas de toda la ciudadela Inca.

This route, part of the Inca road network called Qhapaq Ñan, involves a four-day hike through mountainous landscapes, cloud forests, and archaeological sites such as Wiñay Wayna. The route culminates at the Sun Gate, one of the entrances to Machu Picchu, from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Inca citadel.

Los sombreros en la sierra andina no solo son un accesorio que se viste para protegerse del intenso sol en temporada seca. También son un distintivo de la comunidad local a la que perteneces, grupo de danza (en festividades) y hasta tu estado civil. Elemento identitario y que almacena mucha cultura e historia.

In the Andean highlands, hats aren’t just an accessory worn to protect oneself from the intense sun during the dry season. They’re also a symbol of the local community to which one belongs, and even one’s marital status. They’re an element of identity that embodies a wealth of culture and history.

• SALAR DE MARAS•
Ubicado a más de 3,000 metros de altura, en la superficie de la montaña Qaqawiñay, el Salar de Maras está formado por miles (más de 3 mil) de pozas de sal alimentadas por un manantial subterráneo. Estas salineras han sido explotadas desde tiempos preincaicos y aún hoy son trabajadas por familias locales que preservan técnicas tradicionales de recolección. El resultado: una sal rosada rica en minerales y cultura.

Located at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, on the surface of the Qaqawiñay mountain, the Salar de Maras is made up of thousands (more than 3,000) of salt pools fed by an underground spring. These salt flats have been exploited since pre-Inca times and are still worked today by local families who preserve traditional harvesting techniques. The result: a pinkish salt rich in minerals and culture.
