Not only do Travel Agencies play a major role in streamlining travel, they also contribute to the local economies of the provinces where they are based. Remember, the travel industry is made up mostly of human beings and we are still a long way away from transitioning into AI-verse.

This is a unified statement from the 5 major tourism stakeholders - NAITAS, PTAA, PHILTOA, PATA & PIATA.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
From the Philippine Travel & Tourism Stakeholders

We support the government’s efforts to protect consumers and ensure accountability in the travel industry. However, we’re concerned about recent statements suggesting people should skip travel agencies and book only with airlines. While this may be in response to a specific issue, such comments could unfairly hurt an entire sector that plays a key role in Philippine tourism.

Travel agencies—many of them small and family-run businesses—help millions of Filipinos travel safely and affordably. Dismissing their role risks damaging public trust, confusing travelers, and putting livelihoods at stake.

We respectfully ask our leaders to be mindful of the impact of their words. Let’s work together to strengthen, not divide, the travel industry—and build a tourism sector that is inclusive, resilient, and truly world-class.

📍𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 is a captivating region in the Philippines, known for its lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. Situated on the northern part of the island of Mindanao, it offers a diverse range of attractions, from the stunning white-sand beaches along its coastlines to the breathtaking mountainous terrain further inland.

Geographically, the region is characterized by a blend of plains, rolling hills, mountains, and coastal areas that boast fertile soil, plentiful minerals, and abundant agricultural resources. Its strategic location makes it a crucial gateway to and from the rest of Mindanao [2].

Northern Mindanao is culturally rich, as evidenced by its many festivals. Two of the most well-known festivals in the region are the Higalaay Festival in Cagayan de Oro City and the Lanzones Festival in Camiguin, which is a 4-day celebration of this fruit. Additionally, the region possesses plentiful water resources, contributing to the establishment of hydroelectric power facilities in the vicinity. These power stations produce the majority of the electricity accessible within the Mindanao grid [4].

The best time to explore this area falls between February and March. The initial months of the dry season may still experience occasional rain, whereas the latter months typically bring hot and humid conditions.

Visitors can explore bustling cities like Cagayan de Oro, savor delicious local cuisine, and immerse themselves in the rich traditions of the region's indigenous communities. Whether you're an adventure seeker, a nature lover, or a cultural enthusiast, Northern Mindanao has something to offer everyone, making it a unique and unforgettable destination.

Truly, there is really much more to know about our regions. That's why, stay tuned for more regions from our 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼: 𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀! 💚
