On the 11th Day of our Marian Pilgrimage here in Europe, in the afternoon, we traveled from Segovia to Ávila, the home of the famous Carmelite saint, Saint Teresa of Ávila.
Upon arrival, we celebrated a heartfelt Thanksgiving Mass at the church, offering our prayers and gratitude for the blessings and graces received throughout our pilgrimage journey.
After the Mass, the pilgrims enjoyed a peaceful walk along the charming old streets of Ávila, a city well known for its beautifully preserved medieval walls and deep spiritual heritage. We visited the lively Plaza Mayor, admired the historic cathedral, and experienced the serene atmosphere of this sacred city connected to the life of Saint Teresa.
Before ending the day, everyone had the chance to taste and buy the famous “Yemas de Santa Teresa,” the traditional sweet delicacy of Ávila named in honor of Saint Teresa — a simple yet memorable treat from this holy city.
