Deeply concerned. Deeply hopeful.

Sohail Sakhi is a proud son of the Hunza Valley a high-altitude guide, geographer, and photographer who has stood on the summits of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, and, most recently, Kangchenjunga.

He is currently unaccounted for after the avalanche on Broad Peak. Nothing has been confirmed. We are holding on to hope, and we are praying with everything we have for a miracle, and for Hunza’s own to come home.

Deeply concerned by the news from Broad Peak.

Our thoughts are with Sohail Sakhi of Hunza, Nims Dai, and the entire team of ten currently unaccounted for after the avalanche — and with their families, waiting for news.

The mountains give us so much, and they ask for respect in return. Right now, we’re praying for a safe rescue and for every one of them to come home.

15 days. Islamabad to Islamabad. Snow Lake Hispar La Trek and back — and everyone made it.

This group included 6 overseas Pakistanis, flying in from the US and UK to reconnect with the mountains their families come from.
