I had the nicest surprise yesterday with a call from Xiomara Maisonet founder of Nubecitas. I had included a mention of her Besitos de Coco for sale at Family Market in the last magazine. Her sales went up greatly. I did not know her but like to support locally made prodects. What did she do? Called me, out of the blue, to deliver a gift of the most delicious treats as a thank you. This was so unexpected! It also made me so grateful to do a job that I love and be able to support businesses on Vieques at the same time. Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph them before diving in but the mini parch cake made with fresh parcha from Vieques was downright heavenly! She is working on finding packaging that she likes for these types of cakes. The Besitos de Coco (Coconut Kisses) make a great gift or souvenir and are for sale at Family Market on Vieques.
