Colleen packed the car for Amarante. She was off to scout real estate for a client interested in the north of Portugal.

Meanwhile, Francisco was already out there. Package pickups scattered across the region, keeping things moving for the people we work with. He saw Colleen’s message in the PTP work group that she was heading north for a few days. He reached out, and they decided to meet up in Amarante.

They found each other on these streets. The founder with the scout, walking the same town, seeing it the same way. Talking about what works, what fits, what home actually looks like.

This is Francisco. Our guy in the north. The one who moves through this region like he wrote the map. He knows which neighborhoods have potential, he picks up packages and notices everything & he genuinely cares about getting it right.

This is what August in Portugal feels like.

You’re out on the water with friends, the sun dropping into the ocean at the right angle, and everything slows down. The kind of evening you’re actually present for.

Everyone talks about Nazare. Those massive hundred-foot winter waves, the surfers from everywhere. August is golden hour cruises and coastlines that don’t need a filter. You’re out here realizing you could do this every month if you wanted to.

When we first moved here, we thought we were just trying it out. Somewhere between the first sunset and now, it stopped being a trip and became our life.

Now we help others do the same.

What don’t you know you don’t know?

That’s the question Colleen gets asked all the time when people are thinking about moving to Portugal.

You can do research. You can read articles, join Facebook groups, scroll through Reddit. But there’s this massive gap between what you can anticipate on your own and what actually hits you when you’re living it.

Colleen is an American who relocated to Portugal and now helps hundreds of people through this process. She knows the stuff nobody thinks to ask. The education you actually need. The logistics that blindside people. The difference between a smooth transition and one that doesn’t.

Here’s what stuck with me from the video: AI is incredible. You can ask it anything. But it can’t anticipate what you don’t know you don’t know. It can only answer the question you already know to ask.

Okay, this one’s tough to write because Tiago’s just... been such a big part of this place.

Some of you know Tiago from calls, some of you know him from the office, but all of us know him as the guy who always had time. Time to explain the paperwork one more time, time to talk someone off the ledge before a big move, time to grab a coffee and just check in. He never made it feel like a job. He made it feel like he actually cared, because he did.

After a lot of years splitting his life between handball and helping people relocate their whole lives to Portugal, Tiago’s finally doing the thing full time. He’s off to Sicily to play for Pallamano Regalbuto, and honestly, it’s about time the sport got all of him.

The truth is, our whole job here is helping people go after the life they actually want. Feels only right to send one of our own off to go do the same.

We’re going to miss having him down the hall. But we’re not going to pretend this isn’t exactly where he should be. Go be great, Tiago. Everyone here is rooting for you, every single match.

Here’s the thing about real estate hunting in Portugal.

The properties that photograph best aren’t always the ones that work best for your long term investment. Ocean views are beautiful but sometimes they come with moisture issues and isolation. Central locations are walkable without a view but everything you need is within walking distance. That’s what renters actually want and that’s what builds value on your investment.

Our clients came in wanting those ocean views. We scouted the Silver Coast together and the view was stunning. The property in the middle of Nazaré though? No ocean. But investment wise, it’s walkable to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores. Same budget. Completely different opportunity.

Our job is to work on behalf of our clients and be honest about what actually makes sense for their investment, even when it’s not the dream they walked in with. We know the difference between what looks beautiful online and what’s actually going to work for you long term.
