Port is such a complex and intense wine, and can be really spectacular when aged for decades. A few days were happily spent investigating the lodges of Porto. Porto is where the wine is aged, not produced, and what a lovely city Porto is. Superb service and wines in all of the Port lodges, and special mentions go to:

Probably, maybe, perhaps our favorite wine country of all. Georgia is the birthplace of wine and a truly spectacular place, which is being enjoyed here by the Dixons. They actually slept in the huge amphorae you see in one of the photos...

Another couple of happy wine tourers. Elizabeth and Janelle from Canada enjoyed several days in Colchagua and Maipo. These charming people shared some great travel stories with us and went away with a greater understanding of wine in return.

Colchagua is a trip you could do in one day from Santiago, but it is not recommended. Much better to take 2 or 3 days, staying overnight in Santa Cruz or nearby, as Jessica and Andy did over the last 2 days. You can then visit many more places, spend less time driving and more time enjoying drinking and eating. A few photos here from Koyle, Viu Manent, Laura Hartwig, Mont Gras, and the famous Montes.
