Women in Tourism Caribbean – Giving Back is in Our DNA ✨

At the heart of Women in Tourism Caribbean, giving back isn’t an initiative—it’s who we are.

During last year’s retreat in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands, our community came together with purpose—supporting Ms. Hanna’s local charity in Jamaica to assist families impacted by the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa.

In true WOW fashion, our attendees showed up with generosity and intention—giving from the heart to support those in need. As a collective, we matched every contribution, allowing us to present a meaningful donation to Ms. Hanna’s initiative and directly support families on their path to recovery.

Because this is our DNA:
We don’t just gather—we give.
We don’t just connect—we uplift.

As we look ahead to this year’s retreat, that same spirit continues.

Our experiences are rooted not only in empowerment and connection—but in community impact. Wherever we go, we are committed to leaving a positive footprint and supporting the communities that need it most.

So if you’re joining us this year, come ready to be part of something bigger—
✨ A community that leads with purpose
✨ A network that believes in giving as much as gaining

Dates: November 12th -15th 2026
Location: Turks and Caicos Ialands
*Registration opens July 1st 2026

Together, we continue to show that tourism is not just about places—it’s about people, purpose, and meaningful impact.

Women in Tourism Caribbean – WOW Highlight ✨

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate the theme “Give to Gain” by recognizing women whose dedication and service continue to strengthen Caribbean tourism.

On March 2, 2026, a remarkable milestone was reached—17 years of service with the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission.

What began as a Part-Time Destination Host grew into a journey of leadership, growth, and commitment to hospitality excellence. Through passion and perseverance, she advanced to Full-Time Destination Host, Senior Destination Host, and today proudly serves as Destination Host Co-ordinator.

For nearly two decades, she has given her time, expertise, and heart to the tourism industry—welcoming visitors, supporting VIP arrivals, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring that every guest entering the British Virgin Islands experiences the warmth and hospitality the destination is known for.

Her journey reflects the true meaning of “Give to Gain.” By giving her dedication to service, mentorship, and excellence, she has gained invaluable experience, leadership opportunities, and the ability to positively impact the visitor experience and those around her.

She also acknowledges the influence of the late Sharon Flax-Brutus, whose leadership created opportunities for growth and whose belief in developing talent continues to inspire many in the industry.

Seventeen years later, her commitment to professional development, service excellence, and advancing Caribbean tourism remains stronger than ever.

The journey continues—and so does the impact of women who give, lead, and inspire across our region. 🌺✨

Tears were shed. Cameras were down. Guards were lowered.

This was the moment where women, often seen as powerhouses, allowed themselves to be human. At the Women in Tourism Caribbean 2025 Retreat Brunch & Conversation, vulnerability took center stage.

“Mask Off: The Silent Battles Behind the Smile” was more than a panel—it was a safe space, thoughtfully moderated by Omega, featuring powerful, honest voices from Tiffany, Stacy, and Marie. No titles. No roles. No masks. Just women being women.

The conversation explored mental health, emotional labor, burnout, and the quiet battles carried behind confident smiles. In Caribbean spaces where strength is celebrated and silence is normalized, this moment was culturally courageous—breaking generational taboos, creating space for healing, and reminding us that vulnerability is not weakness, it is power.
