Travellers can arrive in Thailand by air, land, and water with the required prepaid accommodation reduced to 1 night and the COVID-19 tests revised to 1 RT-PCR and 1 self-ATK. The health insurance coverage has also been reduced to no less than US$20,000.

Yes, India gets included to the list of countries approved for Quarantine Free travel to Thailand !!

This comes along with inclusion of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kuwait, Oman and many more countries and the list now stands expanded to include 63 countries.

Travellers from these countries can travel to destinations like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Chiang Mai etc without a minimum night constraint and without quarantine.

Thailand may fully open for tourists without quarantine measures by January.

In the interim more relaxtions by October , reports Bangkok times

The Tourism and Sports Ministry wants to open the whole country without quarantine by January next year, depending on nationwide herd immunity.

Bangkok Post reports that the current Covid wave in Thailand may be past its peak. If this analysis is correct, then we can be hopeful of other destinations within Thailand opening up once the wave settles down and under control.

Looking at the chart it looks like end of October we may see a much more positive outlook for tourism in Thailand.

Phuket Sandbox completed one month end of July. Was it a success ? This CNN article discusses this as well. In our view Phuket Sandbox is a success because

1) It has given a ray of hope to travellers and tourism professionals alike, that we can make a start, no matter how tough it is

2) Phuket is now a model that many Island destinations are watching closely. While Thailand is under the grip of current wave of Covid, Phuket continues to welcome tourists. This is our litmus test and should we pass it, Phuket will be an inspiration for other destinations across the world to open

3) Phuket Reopening is a slow steady but a very safe start. It is a very sure start. Today Phuket is the safest destination in the world for a vacation.

We hope to see more arrivals to Phuket in August and many more happy holiday makers that would help sustain tourism in the Island.
