Ready to explore southwest Uganda — powered only by you?

This human-powered journey stretches from the Virunga volcanoes to the rapids of the Birira River. On foot, by mountain bike, and by raft, a small team crossed the heart of the “Gorilla Highlands”, following village paths, forest trails and remote waterways.

Few places on the African continent offer such extraordinary landscapes in such close proximity as southwest Uganda — where volcanoes, rainforests, and wild rivers meet.

This expedition was created in collaboration with Dirt Uganda and the Gorilla Rafting team, , ,

Keen to take on the challenge?
Two new expeditions are planned for 18–29 April 2026 and 21 October–1 November 2026.

You can’t truly know Uganda from behind a car window.

You miss the dust, the laughter, and the children waving from the roadside. Yet this is how most visitors still experience the country.

That is about to change.

This weekend , together with , is launching a new e-bike experience.

Slower. More connected. Open to everyone.

Locally assembled e-bikes let you explore beyond the main roads. Through villages, along red dirt trails, and into everyday life.

No car windows. No rush. Just presence.
