Coming home a day early was sad, but getting your new pins up for display brings back happy memories!!

A pibal is a small, helium-filled latex balloon that pilots release into the air before taking off.

Hot air balloons travel entirely with the wind, pilots cannot steer them in a traditional sense. They navigate by ascending or descending into different air currents moving in different directions. Releasing a pibal allows them to:
• Track wind direction
• Calculate wind speed
• Identify wind shears
• Decide whether it is safe to take off, fly, and land.

While we were waiting for all the flyers to leave the field, the Baby T-Rex crew had some fun!

Thanks for all the kids who played with us today!
