Unpredictable, beautiful and unique
There is a specific kind of magic that happens on the River when the Seaway closes.
The January 5th deadline came and went, and for seven more days the steel giants continued to move through the channel. But today, January 12th, the season has finally closed and the River is returning to its wild state.
No wakes, no engine noise, just the sound of natural flow beneath a growing crystal ceiling.
This rest is a gift to the shorelines, the wetlands, and the wildlife that calls this region home. Today, we put down the binoculars, take a breath, and enjoy the quiet.
