Anacortes is located on Fidalgo Island, it is conveniently situated halfway between Seattle and Vancouver BC and is the destination point for the San Juan Islands and International ferry runs for Washington State. d unique accommodations. Whether you are planning a day trip or a vacation, Anacortes has something for everyone. Whale watching tours, kayaking excursions, sailing, boating, birding, fishing, crabbing, hiking or biking to name a few. The Skagit Tulip and Anacortes Arts festivals are enjoyed by all ages.

Did you know Anacortes was once one of the largest salmon canning centers on the West Coast?🎣

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, salmon canneries helped transform Anacortes from a small island community into a thriving maritime town. Fishermen brought in massive catches from the rich waters of Puget Sound and Alaska.

The industry provided jobs for hundreds of workers and played a major role in shaping the city's economy, culture, and waterfront development. Today, while the canneries are gone, their legacy lives on in the city's maritime heritage and deep connection to the sea.
