A reminder for anyone who has been thinking about Iceland with a camera in hand: the early booking price runs through November 15.

With the $1,000 deposit paid by then, the trip is $6,095 per person, double occupancy, instead of $6,495. The single supplement is $550.

A few people have asked me what it's actually like to travel in a small group. I'll let some of them answer.

Karen and Don from Big Sky, Montana, had never done a group tour before. After their trip they told us: "Never traveled with a group before... worried about the pace, fitting in... Mike and Colin dissolved every concern." I'll take that.

Al Malinowski, also from Big Sky, has now been on six Alaskan adventures with me over 20 years. Dave Peterson from Whitefish, Montana, has known me almost 20 years and says I never lose my cool or my sense of humor. He has clearly not seen me try to find my car keys.

Iceland 2027 is 11 days, guided by Colin and me, with a maximum of 10 people per group. Tour 1 is June 18-28 and Tour 2 is June 30-July 10. The early booking price is $6,095 per person ($6,495 regular) with the $1,000 deposit paid by November 15, 2026.

Update 10/9: Tour #1 is full and we are taking reservations for the second set of dates.

If you follow my photography, you know I'll go a long way for good light. In June 2027, Colin and I are taking a small group to Iceland to look for it.

This trip is built around making better pictures. We teach photography at any level, whether you shoot with a phone or a pro camera. The locations help: puffins on the Westman Islands, a glacier and Diamond Beach, an ice cave, whale watching, a horseback ride, and Forest Lagoon.

It's 11 days, guided by Colin and me from start to finish. Groups are capped at 10, with a waitlist once a tour is full.

Tour 1: June 18-28 (full)
Tour 2: June 30-July 10 (10 spots open)

$6,495 per person, double occupancy. $6,095 with the $1,000 deposit paid by November 15, 2026. Single supplement is $550.
