This Rifugio can be reached via gondola at the town of Campitello do Fassa. There are quite a few cute towns along this stretch of road in the valley.
The gondola is large and takes you HIGH up the mountain. We arrived right when it opened in mid-July and had no trouble getting a spot (and they didnāt crowd the gondolas either). When we returned later that day there was no one going up or down the gondolas š
From here you can go up the famous coffin gondola to an insane Rifugio nestled between these mountains (itās in this video but you can barely see it). Or you could spend the day hiking or mountain biking the area. Thereās also are many rifugios with restaurants up here as well as playgrounds too!
Thereās also a road if you want to drive the switchbacks up the mountain instead of paying for the gondola.
