The Sullivan Building is one of the most beautiful buildings in downtown Anderson. The building itself dates back to 1891. It was designed in the Commercial Romanesque Revival Style during a time when ordinary businesses made an architectural statement that was both beautiful and functional. It was home to Sullivan Hardware beginning in 1903. Today the former warehouse has become Anderson Arts Center as well as loft apartments. The former Sullivans Hardware store is now occupied by the Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill and several other small businesses.

How many people remember the motion picture “The Midnight Man” being filmed in Downtown Anderson back in mid 1970s? I spent a lot of time watching the filming process never thinking I would ever be an extra in a Hollywood motion picture myself. Life is a trip for sure..
