Four nights among the soaring peaks and storybook villages of the Dolomites. Then the entire Venetian lagoon aboard Uniworld Boutique River Cruises spectacular S.S. JUST BOOKED: MYSTICAL, MAGICAL PERU

Some journeys take you to a destination. Others seem to carry you into another world.

My clients will begin among the art, architecture and bohemian energy of Lima’s Barranco neighborhood before ascending into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. They will meet Quechua weavers, explore the ancient fortress of Ollantaytambo and travel beside the Urubamba River toward one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.

At Machu Picchu, they will have two privately guided opportunities to walk among its temples and terraces, watching as the legendary citadel emerges from the drifting Andean mist.

From there, the story continues through the cobblestone streets and imperial ruins of Cusco before trading the mountains for the mysterious blackwater rivers of the Amazon. Their final four nights will be spent aboard the luxurious Aqua Nera, venturing deep into the rainforest in search of pink river dolphins, brilliant birdlife and the secrets of the jungle.

They will stay in some of Peru’s most atmospheric hotels along the way, including three remarkable Relais & Châteaux properties: Hotel B, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo and the historic Inkaterra La Casona.

All Is Revealed

It began with three rather curious clues: an ornate plague mask, a mysterious boat emerging from the darkness and a range of almost mythical mountains looming in the distance.

Then the picture became a little clearer.

The mysterious boat revealed itself as a Venetian gondola, surrounded by the unmistakable architecture of Venice. But one question remained…

What were those magnificent mountains doing towering over Venice?

At last, all is revealed.

Our Clues:
The mysterious boat — a Venetian gondola.
The mythical mountains — the Dolomites.
The plague mask — a clue to the plague whose end Venice still commemorates with the Festa del Redentore.

The idea that refused to leave me has become an extraordinary journey—one I have dreamed of bringing to life and inviting you to experience.

We begin amid the soaring peaks, alpine villages and extraordinary beauty of the Italian Dolomites. From there, we descend to Venice and step aboard Uniworld’s magnificent S.S. La Venezia for an intimate voyage through Venice and the Veneto.

And then, the grand finale.

Our journey has been timed to place us in Venice for the Festa del Redentore, when the city gathers along the water and fireworks illuminate the Venetian skyline during one of Italy’s most spectacular celebrations.

I’m casting a magical spell as we speak. A French fantasy you can be a part of.

We’re busily creating an extraordinary optional pre-cruise adventure through two of France’s most magnificent destinations: the château-dotted Loire Valley and the almost impossibly beautiful Mont-Saint-Michel.

Charming French villages, grand castles, wonderful food and wine…and, if all goes according to plan, the rare pleasure of actually staying on Mont-Saint-Michel itself, where the bells toll, the city closes its gates at night and you slumber surrounded by the sea in a protected medieval citadel with night tours of the monastery, wandering by lantern light.
