We are SO EXCITED to share that our CEO, is a WINNER of ’s Women In Business Awards 2024 🥳🥂✨

We’d like to share some words from her on the meaning of her win:

This week I attended the Austin Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards. Much to my surprise, my name was announced as a WINNER. 

I’ve spent the last few days thinking about that moment.  The Austin Business Journal has been our biggest supporter, and much of the recognition and exposure we’ve gotten has been through their events and awards programs. We have been lucky enough to be nominated and finalist in the Best CEO, Fast 50, Best Family Business and Best Places to Work Awards. But this unexpected award has made me stop in my tracks. 

I don’t always feel like the other women that are at these events. I don’t manage bajllions of dollars of revenue. I haven’t spearheaded life-changing non-profit programs. I don’t have any acronyms on my business cards. When I check in for a flight, I’m nearly bronze status. I stick out like a sore thumb in my multicolored jumpsuits rather than upscale business attire. I’m the mom that never has a band-aid when my kid bails, and just realized there’s a spelling test tomorrow. I don’t flinch when one of my employees walks in wearing an Armadillo costume. My company’s tagline is “we create fun.” I own...a tour company.

But I am immensely proud! I am proud to live in Austin where people value experiences.  I am the only person I know whose entire purpose is to make people happy. I get to work with my staff who are our city’s most outstanding ambassadors. They’re talented musicians, headlining comedians, incredible storytellers, and other folks that are still “keeping Austin Weird” at a time where Austin becomes a little less weird every day. THANK YOU to my team that carry out my dream on a daily basis and have catapulted this company to the wildest heights!

At Austin Detours, we’re fortunate to partner with several local businesses in Austin as features in both our events and as a part of our tours. One of our favorite local spots is . 🤤🍖

Not only does Stiles Switch deliver mouthwatering barbecue, but it also offers a nostalgic dining experience in the historic Violet Crown Shopping Center—a spot with its own cinematic history as the filming location for “Dazed and Confused.”

We’re so grateful for partners like Stiles Switch who help make our experiences that much more authentically Austin!

The Austin Detours crew had a great time volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank earlier this week — proving that great times and great causes go hand in hand! 🥫🌟

Together with the other volunteers we were able to provide 525 boxes which is equal to 14,000 meals to our neighbors in need. 🥳
