Celebrate Labor Day weekend with a beloved Beaufort tradition as the Carteret County Arts & Crafts Coalition hosts its Biannual Show & Sale at the Beaufort Historic Site, 130 Turner Street.

Held on August 30 and 31 from 10 AM to 5 PM, this free, family-friendly event showcases the work of juried artists and craftsmen from across Eastern North Carolina.

Guests can explore a vibrant marketplace of handmade goods, including pottery, jewelry, leatherwork, textiles, visual arts, and more — each piece reflecting the creativity and coastal spirit of the region.

Established in 1978, the Coalition has proudly presented its spring and fall shows on these historic grounds since 1981, offering a rich blend of tradition and artistic diversity.

SOLD OUT! The Annual Crab Cake Cook-off is more than a culinary competition—it’s a celebration of Beaufort's coastal heritage. Held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center, this event brings together four guest chefs, each crafting their signature crab cake recipe using fresh, local ingredients that reflect the flavors of the Southern Outer Banks.

The event is hosted by the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum to support the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort.
