Lake Whatcom is a gorgeous place to play, paddle, and pedal past. But behind those beautiful blue waters is a balancing act involving drinking water for the community, flood protection, and enough water flowing through Whatcom Creek to support salmon and other fish.

🚲 Follow the flow with H2Whoa!, an 18-mile bike ride that traces Bellingham’s water journey, from rain collecting in Lake Whatcom to the city’s drinking-water system and wastewater treatment plant, all the way to Bellingham Bay.

Calling all bird nerds, feather fanatics, and casual admirers of creatures with wings, beaks, and questionable hairdos. 🐦🚲

"For the Birds" takes you on a flight through Bellingham’s wonderfully bird-obsessed side, where winged wonders turn up in public art, ponds, parks, businesses, and some decidedly unexpected places.

It’s part bike ride, part birdwatching, part adventure, and entirely for the birds. You might come looking for birds and end up discovering a few other cool corners of town along the way.

Binoculars aren’t required, but they’ll come in handy for spotting the avians hiding in plain sight. Bring your curiosity, keep your eyes peeled, and prepare to get a little bird-brained.

BIKE Bellingham began with a simple idea: help people discover more of Bellingham by bike. Now that idea is going farther.

BIKE Beyond is a new community for people who love traveling by bicycle — whether that means your first bikepacking overnighter, a family bike-camping adventure, a tour close to home, or an epic journey across the country or around the world.

The goal is to create a place where we can learn from each other, share skills and stories, find inspiration, and discover more ways to travel by bike.

BIKE Beyond is all about a year-round community:

🐦🚲 FOR THE BIRDS HAS LANDED! 🚲🐦

Calling all bird nerds, feather fanatics, and casual admirers of creatures with wings, beaks, and questionable hairdos. For the Birds takes you on an 18-mile flight through Bellingham’s wonderfully bird-obsessed side — with an 11-mile short version if you’re looking for a slightly less epic migration.

Along the way, you’ll find 23 stops featuring birding spots, public art, businesses, the Hall of Birds, and some decidedly unexpected places. It’s part bike ride, part birdwatching, part adventure — and entirely for the birds.

Binoculars aren’t required, but they’ll come in handy. Bring your curiosity, keep your eyes peeled, and prepare to get a little bird-brained.
