It’s coming! Yes, at last!

Fall days are on their way and I couldn’t be happier. Pumpkins, scarecrows, corn mazes and festivals will soon be everywhere you turn in north Georgia. Colorful leaves are certainly the highlight of the season but definitely not the only reason to come for a visit. The air turns crisp and outdoor fire pits are lit. Mugs are full of hot drinks and s’mores are roasted on the open fire. It’s a great time of year that many look forward to all year. Sit a while on the back porch first thing in the morning and watch the day come alive. I love the days that start with the mountain fog weaving through the trees and just hovering over the stream that runs through our property at Cabins at Highland Falls. Some mornings begin with pink and orange skies just peeking above the mountain ridge. Other mornings the mist hovers over the whole forest blurring the brilliant colors into grey clouds. Each morning seems to start with a surprise for those who enjoy the peaceful awakening of the north Georgia mountains.
