Fun Monday fact: The dome of the Massachusetts State House is covered in 23-karat GOLD 🏛️✨

Originally made of wood (and it leaked), it was later covered in copper by Paul Revere's company, and finally gilded in gold leaf in 1874.

During WWII, the dome was painted gray to prevent it from being a target for potential air raids. Can you imagine?

Today it shines bright over Beacon Hill and it's one of the most photographed buildings on our route. You'll see it gleaming from the top deck — trust us, it's impossible to miss.

Happy Bunker Hill Day, Boston! 🎉🇺🇸

Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill — June 17, 1775. It was one of the first major battles of the American Revolution, and although the British technically won, the colonists proved they could stand up to the world's most powerful army.

"Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" — you know the quote.

The Bunker Hill Monument stands 221 feet tall in Charlestown. You can climb all 294 steps to the top for an incredible view of Boston (free admission!).

Our Boston and Charlestown route takes you right to it. Hop off, climb the monument, soak in the history, and hop back on.
