Boston history hits different when you see it from the top deck. 🚌🏛️

The Old State House stands at the heart of downtown, surrounded by the streets where some of Boston’s most important moments unfolded.

Hop on, explore the city, and see history up close.

The Rose Kennedy Greenway used to be an elevated highway cutting straight through downtown.
Now it's a mile and a half of parks, fountains, and public art connecting the North End to the harbor.
Monday reminder that cities can actually get better — and you can see the whole transformation from the top deck.

Throwback to 1872, when a fire tore through 65 acres of downtown Boston and destroyed nearly 800 buildings in a single night.
The rebuild is why so much of the Financial District looks the way it does today — wider streets, granite and brick facades, a whole new fire code.
You're riding past the result of that rebuild on nearly every downtown block.

The South End doesn't get talked about as much as Beacon Hill, and honestly that's a little unfair.
Largest Victorian rowhouse district in the country, some of the best brunch in Boston, and art galleries tucked between brownstones on nearly every block.
Hop off, wander SoWa on a weekend, and see why locals quietly love this neighborhood the most.

August heat, quick tip: ride the first loop before 11 AM or after 4 PM if you want the top deck without the midday sun blasting straight down. Bring water either way — there's no shade up there and the harbor breeze only helps so much. Mid-afternoon riders, we see you sweating and we respect the commitment.

The West End is proof that a neighborhood can completely disappear and completely come back.

Much of the original West End was demolished in the 1950s in one of the most controversial urban renewal projects in the country. Today it's home to TD Garden, where the Celtics and Bruins play, plus new residential towers, restaurants, and a small but mighty museum dedicated to the neighborhood that used to be here.

It's one of the more complicated stories on our route, and one worth knowing.

Have you ever caught a game or show at the Garden?

Monday view: the New England Aquarium and Boston Harbor, side by side.

This stretch of waterfront is one of our favorite parts of the route, glass and water and boats all at once. Inside, the four-story ocean tank holds sharks, sea turtles, and enough fish to keep you there for hours. Outside, the harbor just keeps doing its thing, ferries coming and going all day.

It's proof that some of the best Monday resets don't require leaving the city at all.

Happy National Friendship Day! Some of the best trips happen because a friend said “let's just go.”

Tag the person you'd hop on a double-decker bus with at 9:30 AM without complaining, the one who's always down for one more stop, one more photo, one more slice of pizza in the North End.

We love seeing friend groups pile onto the top deck. Keep sending us those photos.
