What's not to love about lemurs?!?

There is nothing more delightful than a wild encounter with one of Madagascar's 100+ lemur species. These fascinating primates are found nowhere else on Earth, and are known for some remarkable traits, including female dominance in many species.

It's impossible not to smile while staring into the intense amber eyes of a brown lemur, and hearing the haunting wail of the Indri echoing through the forest will stop you in your tracks as you listen in complete awe.

But there's so much more to lemurs than their fuzzy little faces and quirky personalities.

Habitat loss and hunting make them among the most endangered mammals on Earth. Responsible ecotourism plays an important role in protecting lemurs by creating economic incentives for local communities to conserve the forests they depend upon.

We can attest from our own experience that up-close encounters with these captivating creatures will warm your heart while also giving you a deeper appreciation for why protecting Madagascar's biodiversity matters.

Happy World Rhino Day!

There is nothing more soothing than the sound of a white rhino happily munching away on grass, living his best life inside a private rhino sanctuary adjacent to Kenya's spectacular Maasai Mara Reserve!

White rhinos are remarkably social, gentle giants, and it's heartbreaking how they have been relentlessly targeted for their horns.

On our safari in Kenya this February, we had multiple rhino encounters in the Mara and Laikipia. It was inspiring to see firsthand the conservation successes Kenya has achieved in protecting these incredible animals from poaching.

Today, we honor the rangers, safari operators, landowners, and conservationists who dedicate their careers, and often their lives, to protecting these magnificent creatures.

Thank you to everyone who helps make the future possible. May Africa’s rhinos continue to thrive!

The last thing we were expecting to see on a tiger safari in India's Bandhavgarh National Park was this gorgeous leopard hiding in the brush!

Leopards are elusive on a good day, and they keep an especially low profile in places like Bandhavgarh, which has one of the highest tiger densities in the world (and yes, we got to see a tiger as well!).

The magic of a safari is that you never know what each day will bring, and you often get so much more than you bargained for, especially with the assistance of professional trackers and guides!

A journey to spot the elusive shan (snow leopard) in the high Himalayas of Ladakh is slow travel at its finest.

Each day, local spotters work around the clock, scanning the mountains from dawn until dusk for any sign of these ghost-like cats.

Meanwhile, you spend your days exploring the stunning high-altitude landscapes by foot and vehicle, visiting local families, meandering through Buddhist monasteries, and spotting Tibetan wolves, ibex, urial, blue sheep, and golden eagles along the way.

There are no packed itineraries or rushing from one place to the next; just long days in one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes, with time to notice the details and engage with the local people.

Whether you are lucky enough to see a shan or not, the experience is deeply immersive, wonderfully unhurried, and rooted in the extraordinary wildlife, culture, history, and landscapes that make Ladakh such an unforgettable place that keeps drawing us back.

Seeing a lion in the wild is one of the most coveted safari experiences, and there’s something undeniably special about finding yourself in the presence of adult males.

From the magnificent black-maned males of the Kalahari to the scarred faces of those living in fiercely competitive territories to the awkward young adult males (YAMs) still finding their place in the pride, every lion has a story.

No matter where you encounter them, it’s always a privilege to stand in the presence of royalty.
