Alan booked a trip for his family this evening on the trout pond! The fish showed up tonight and Alan landed this beautiful 22.5” male rainbow fishing the slip bobber rig fishing a size 14 tan scud. We caught plenty of fish tonight, didn’t take many pictures though. A great evening with great people! We caught our fish from the dam through the narrows. Gregg and Tim joined me again this October for some fall fishing action! We caught a whole mess of fish today and a number of good ones! We didn’t touch the trophy mark! But we had one heck of a day on Taneycomo! As always boys it was my pleasure! Thanks for coming to see me again! These fish were caught on yellow mega worms and peach egg flies in the morning and on the slip bobber rig using size 14 tan and gray scuds in the afternoon! Frank fishes with me multiple times each year he has been fishing Taneycomo for sometime now. Even before I was guiding. His goal in the fall is to find that big brown trout. Today the dream came true. Frank landed this 25.25” monster brown on his fly rod fishing 2lb fluorocarbon leader on a yellow mega worm in the trophy area. The fight was epic. Congratulations Frank! Robert told me on the phone his goal was to learn techniques for catching browns. This evening we set out and went over a few methods. The one that did the job was the DD signature series 110+1 jr green machine. A beautiful 21” female brown. This fish was caught below fall creek on the bluff.

Slip bobber rig prevailed on tonight’s trip. We landed this 21” trophy rainbow below the boat ramp at the dam before it got dark! This fish was caught on a size 10 tan scud!
