National Travel and Tourism Week is a great reminder of the impact tourism has on Brookings and the role destination development plays in supporting our local economy.

In 2025, Brookings County welcomed $127.6 million in visitor spending, supporting more than 1,400 jobs and generating $10.4 million in state and local taxes.

Through Visit Brookings, we continue investing in events, experiences, and partnerships that bring visitors to our community year-round. Last year alone, 26 community events supported through our grant program attracted approximately 62,000 visitors and generated an estimated $7.2 million in economic impact.

From tournaments and festivals to conferences and campus visits, every visit creates opportunity for local businesses and our community.

It starts with a visit.
