Today we're remembering a wonderful member of both the Yamhill and Carlton Communities. Jim always brought kindness and warmth to both restaurants and he will be deeply missed by our team. We are sending our love and condolences to the Phillips family. ❤️
It is with deep sadness that the Yamhill Fire Protection District shares the passing of longtime community member and dedicated fire service volunteer, Jim Phillips.
Jim was a lifelong resident of the Yamhill community whose commitment to serving others spanned more than 45 years. He first answered the call as a volunteer firefighter before later serving the district as a member of the Board of Directors. Throughout the decades, Jim's steady leadership, dedication, and love for this community helped shape the district into what it is today.
Like many great stories in the fire service, Jim's began in a simple way. When a local farmer experienced a fire, someone pulled up in a pickup truck, told Jim to hop in, and he did. That one ride marked the beginning of a lifetime of service to his neighbors and community.
Whether responding to emergencies, helping guide the district through his service on the Board, or simply being someone the community could count on, Jim embodied the spirit of volunteerism and public service. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of firefighters and community members who benefited from his dedication.
On behalf of the Yamhill Fire Protection District, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jim's family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thank you, Jim, for your unwavering service, your leadership, and your commitment to the community you loved. You will be deeply missed, and your legacy will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Jim. We have it from here.
