Nature rages, then it’s at peace.

After the destructive storms earlier this week, we were treated to unbelievably beautiful sights during this morning’s flight.

These videos were captured from almost directly above the storm-impacted Parade Grounds; the looks back behind us toward Upper and Middle Falls, the second looks ahead toward Lower Falls and our other balloon flying near them this morning.

The wispy fog just makes this view magical.

🎈 That’s a wrap on Summer Sundays with Balloons Over Letchworth! 🎈
A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us this August! Despite some iffy weather at times, we were able to tether our balloon three out of four scheduled days, giving approximately 200 people the chance to experience a tethered balloon ride. We also welcomed many more visitors to our launch area, collected dozens of coloring contest entries, and—most importantly—had a whole lot of fun! 💙

And now, for the business we still have outstanding… prizes! 🏆

We also held a special drawing for educators, and congratulations are in order for Jenine from the Sweet Home School District, who has won a free hoodie! 🎉

We had such a great time with these events that we’re pretty confident this won’t be the last time you see something like it from us. Keep your eyes on our page for more fun in the future!

Celebrate Summer with our final Sunday tether of the season—as we say “Thank You” to educators.
***Everyone is welcome!***
Sunday August 30, 6pm-8:15pm (Wind and weather permitting)
Join us for:
-Tethered rides (I.e., wind and weather permitting, ride to the top of tether ropes about 100 feet in the air) $20/person
- ***Half-price rides for educators*** (ask about our “The Sky’s the Limit!” hands-on assembly program)
- Merch table open (Educators: 20% off,+giveaways)
- Coloring contest with prizes - free
- Basket and burner demonstration - free
- Walk balloon (I.e., walk inside an inflated balloon, as we do for assembly programs) - free, timed entry
- Concession stand open for snacks (for sale)
- Event access - free

***Bring the family, bring a blanket, chairs, your favorite park activities, maybe a picnic, and enjoy the balloons!
***Reminder: balloon viewing and various activities are free; but if you enter the park before 5pm, there is a $10 vehicle usage fee.

***Weather updates: as with all our scheduled passenger flights, for this tether night, we will record a weather update on our flight status line by 3pm the day of the event. Call 585-493-3340, extension 1, to hear the recorded message about weather.

Special events: just a sample of the special events we’ve attended or hosted in the last year! There is no place in the world like Letchworth State Park to fly passenger flights, and if you follow our socials, you know what that looks like; we have an absolute treasure of a location to fly! We also know that for all kinds of reasons, not everyone will be able to come to us for a ride. So with careful planning and early reservations, we can bring our balloons to schools, parties, and all kinds of special events; in the case of offseason school programs, we travel far and wide to share balloons and STEM-related education experiences with students. We might be biased, but we think if you really want to elevate your event…the magic and joy of a hot air balloon is a wonderful way to do it!

CONGRATS to our coloring contest winners for last Sunday, including Delia, age five, pictured here, as well as Tehila, Anvi and Miranda! Our first “Summer Sunday at the Park” was a great success. 🌞**Summer Sundays with Balloons Over Letchworth!***

🎈For the remaining Sundays in August, we will be at our launch site, Letchworth’s Upper Middle Falls, offering tethered rides when the wind and weather permit.

💨Subject to weather conditions, we will offer rides from 6pm to 8pm each Sunday in August.
Rides will be $20/person; free to enter the park after 5, and free to watch!

🖍️We also will offer a coloring contest with prizes, balloon merch will be available, the food concessions stand will be open, and we may have some other balloon-related activities available.

🌲Balloons are for everyone. So come out to the park this summer and join us for Summer Sundays; we look forward to seeing you there!

Hot air balloons are for everyone! 🎈
You don’t have to book a ride to experience the magic. Watching a balloon launch is free and open to the public!
We fly passenger flights Monday through Saturday, May through October at the breathtaking Letchworth State Park. There is no charge to watch the launch! (Please note that the park charges a $10 vehicle entrance fee if you enter between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.)
📅 Check the attached screenshots for our passenger meeting times and call-in procedure, which can be utilized by the public.
📞 Anyone can call our recorded flight information line to check the launch status for the day, and everyone is welcome to come watch the balloons take flight!
Thinking about flying? We occasionally have openings for walk-up passengers, so it’s always worth asking!
Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chairs, gather the kids, and spend the evening enjoying one of the most unforgettable sights at Letchworth State Park.
