A client’s cruise change cost me commission, and I actually feel AMAZING about it. Here’s the story:
A few months ago, I connected with a woman who wanted to book a final adventure for her elderly mother, who was struggling with dementia. We found a cruise in 2027, and she began fundraising for the fare, but as the final payment deadline approached, it became clear she didn’t have enough for that long sailing. But her mom’s health meant they couldn’t wait any longer.
So, we pivoted and booked her *earlier*: We found a fantastic sailing on The Fantasy that departs in a few weeks. It’s 2 nights shorter, but the guaranteed rate and off-season pricing meant she could sail for what she’d already saved. Plus, it’s a Very Merrytime sailing, so her mom gets all the beautiful holiday decor.
Did I lose some of my income? Yeah.
Is it more important to me that these lovely ladies get to spend this important time together in a space that makes them so happy? Absolutely!
If you’re working with a tight budget or timeline, please don’t let that stop you from reaching out.

Alright friends, Luna here with a Disney Cruise Update, "bad news/good news/best news" edition! I know I don't interact here anymore (life is a lot) but since so many of you donated to help us fulfill this dream I felt it was important that I share this update with you all!
Bad news: at this point for the cruise we had already pushed back to April, there was no way at all that we were going to be able to save the additional $6000+ to pay off the balance for the 4 of us for a 7 night cruise.
Good news: I was able to find a 4 night cruise in December that goes only to the Disney owned islands for about the same amount as what we had already put down as a deposit. AND mom will get to see all the beautiful DCL Christmas decor 🥰
Best news: my AMAZING miracle worker of a travel agent Lea Maxwell, Travel Advisor with Visit Mickey took care of changing the reservation (for the second time) and finding us a great bargain on a GTY Veranda room! GTY rooms are basically "whatever's available on the cut off date" and ours is guaranteed to be a room with a Verandah (or better). Not only that, it's actually less than I expected for the Oceanview room that I had specifically chosen, and less than I have already paid. Once my refund for the overage arrives I will be able to set aside and/or pay in advance for our hotel room and rental car and I'll still have funds available for gas and food on the trip there and back.
Lea has been so SO amazing and helpful in making sure that this is the best possible trip for Mom and I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you have Disney (and maybe Universal and/or other destinations and cruise lines?) travel plans in the future, please reach out to Lea to help you plan and book your trip. Her services don't cost you a penny, and she will help you in ways you couldn't possibly imagine.
