I wanted to again mention that Viking Ocean Cruises has a special promotion in honor the country's 250th celebration of Independence. Until Friday, July 31, they will give new bookings a $250 per person onboard credit and a free beverage package. I know it's hard to think ahead to February and wonder what it would be like to be experiencing 85 degrees and wearing shorts and t-shirts when everyone back home is dressed in jackets, sweatshirts and hats and all the winter gear. We did just that last February when we cruised from San Juan to 6 islands in the Caribbean. It was such an awesome experience that we wanted to share that opportunity this next February with all our Facebook Friends. I first put this opportunity out last week and we have booked several friends to travel with us already. As I mentioned, a few days later, as cabins fill up, prices go up and that is what is happening now. To offset that some, there is up to $125 per cabin onboard credit available with verandas and $50 for oceanview and inside cabins. I mentioned last night that pricing will start to go up as the ship fills up. Overnight the prices went up $100 per person. Even then, they are about $500 per person less than other prices in similar ships on the same itinerary. We have room for you! Bookings are coming in and we have a great group building. Last February I posted the picture below from the deck of the Grand Princess, with the comment below:

"Reflecting on 82 degrees, blue skies, calm ocean and going home to 34 degrees on Monday! Some of our fellow travelers are going home to a blizzard this weekend. So, when our friend and frequent fellow traveler Allyson Andrews suggested I plan a group cruise to the Caribbean, I decided that others might like to escape the February cold next winter. Therefore, I would like to see if there is enough possible interest to plan a mid-February cruise next year."

So, today's installment of our Grand Canyon, Bryce & Zion tour needs to be divided into 3 parts because each part is so different & distinctive. You'll see as you follow along. First is our "dark sky star gazing experience." We left our hotel at 9:15 pm last night away from city lights in Bryce Canyon City and spent 2 hours learning about our solar system & beyond and using powerful telescopes to view stars and planets. "O lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, see all the things thy hands have made." The pictures are not great, but give a little idea of what we saw. The 3rd picture is our tour group after the experience. The red lights were used to preserve the darkness needed for best viewing.

From the Grand Canyon to Monument Valley. Pictures are great, but they don't tell all the stories behind the landscapes. It was an incredible day on the Navajo Reservation! Many of these scenes have appeared in movies for about 75 years or so. Tomorrow on to Bryce Canyon City.

We arrived at the Grand Canyon yesterday afternoon. Not my first time here! But every time, Wow! Pictures don'r even come close to describing it. We are enjoying it with 22 of our friends and 20 more new friends. On our way to Page, AZ & Monument Valley and then Bryce & Zion.

Norway is a place I have not been to yet! I know it is a beautiful and interesting place. the fjords, the coastal mountains, the picturesque villages and towns, and the culture of this country will be the main attractions. A beautiful cruise ship, the Ms Rotterdam, Holland America's newest and best ship will be our transportation, lodging and restaurant for the 7-day cruise, along with the other amenities and activities onboard. All the verandah staterooms are booked (on the whole ship). There are some outside staterooms along with interior staterooms available still. You can book an outside or interior stateroom and waitlist for a verandah if you'd like. I have some who are taking that approach.
