Back in 2016, my mom and I took the boys to Chicago by train for an adventure we'll never forget.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the Field Museum and seeing Sue, the famous T. rex skeleton. The boys were completely fascinated, and honestly, so were we.

Life moves fast, and those little boys aren't so little anymore. Photos like this are a good reminder that some of life's greatest treasures are the experiences we share with the people we love.

I'd love to see your favorite throwback travel photos! Share one in the comments and tell me where it was taken. 📸🚆❤️

Railbookers' Italy Week promotion brought back one of my favorite travel memories.

When I was in my early 20s, I was tasked with leading a group of 20 travelers from Rome to Pompeii by train.

At the time, it felt like a pretty big responsibility. Making sure everyone had the right tickets, boarded the correct train, and arrived where they were supposed to be was a little intimidating for someone my age.

Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and we spent the day exploring one of the most fascinating places I've ever visited. Walking through the ruins of Pompeii and seeing a city preserved for nearly 2,000 years was an experience I'll never forget.

Looking back, that trip taught me more than I realized at the time. Travel has a way of pushing us outside our comfort zones, building confidence, and showing us what we're capable of.

Sometimes the most memorable part of a journey isn't just the destination—it's discovering a little more about yourself along the way.

Have you ever had a travel experience that pushed you outside your comfort zone?

Travel gives us new places to explore, new memories to make, and a fresh perspective.

But one of the best parts of any trip is coming home.

Whether it's a garden you've been tending, a project you've been working on, or simply a space that's uniquely yours, home has a way of making every adventure even more meaningful.

What's your favorite thing to come home to after a trip? 🌱🏡✈️

✨ Wanderlust Wednesday ✨

Wanderlust: a strong desire to travel, explore, and experience the world 🌎

For me, it’s places like Machu Picchu—somewhere rich in history, culture, and beauty that just pulls you in and makes you want to experience it for yourself.

That feeling of standing somewhere you’ve only seen in pictures…that’s what wanderlust is all about ✈️

Where is your wanderlust taking you next?

If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful place to unplug and spend quality time with family, this is exactly the kind of spot that reminds you how nice it is to slow down for a few days.

The kids absolutely loved the water slide and never ran out of things to do, while the adults got to relax by the river and enjoy the slower pace. They also offer kayak, canoe, and raft rentals which made for the perfect float day on the water.

And can we talk about the bathhouses?! Easily the cleanest and nicest bathhouses I’ve ever seen while camping 👏

The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful the entire weekend, and you can tell they truly care about making sure families have a great experience.

Definitely one of those hidden gem family destinations we’ll be talking about for a long time ❤️

📚✨ What if your next vacation felt like stepping into the pages of your favorite storybook?

One of my favorite memories from traveling was when my mom and I visited London and walked down Portobello Road ❤️ There was something so magical about experiencing a place I had only ever seen in books and movies before. It truly felt like stepping into a story.

That’s one of the things I love most about travel — the way certain destinations connect us to stories we grew up loving, movies that inspired us, or books that made us dream about seeing the world someday. (Any fellow Bedknobs and Broomsticks fans? ✨🪄)

From the charming English countryside of Jane Austen to iconic bookstores in Paris or the food markets Anthony Bourdain made famous, travel allows us to experience the places behind the stories we love.

Travel isn’t just about checking places off a list — it’s about connection, inspiration, and creating memories that stay with you forever 🌍✈️

So tell me… 📖
If you could visit any destination inspired by a book, movie, or show, where would you go?

Travel Tip Tuesday ✈️

Do a little research on local customs before you travel—it can save you from some awkward moments 😅

For example, in parts of Greece, you’re not supposed to flush toilet paper because the plumbing systems are different 👀

Most hotels and major areas are updated now, but in more local or rural spots, it’s still something to be aware of!

Little things like this can make your trip smoother (and less stressful) 🙌

Have you ever learned something surprising about a place you visited?
