Coos River Highway (Oregon 241) will close at Chandler Bridge for two weekends this month as work continues on a painting and repair project.

The first 55-hour closure is scheduled to begin at 6pm on Friday, June 12th, and will continue until 1am on Monday, June 15th. The second closure will follow the same hours, Friday night to Monday morning, June 19th-22nd.

During the closures, travelers from the east end of Coos River Highway can detour along East Bay Road and U.S. 101 to reach Coos Bay and North Bend.

Nearby residents can expect nighttime construction noise both weekends.

The highway closures will allow workers to paint sections of the bridge that are inaccessible when vehicles are moving along the travel lanes.

Traffic across the bridge is currently limited to a single lane, with a temporary signal providing traffic control. Most delays are around five minutes or less. For more information, click on the link: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=21773

Coos Health Initiatives is proud to host "The Comedy Toast of Sheriff Gabe Fabrizio," benefitting MENOmentum, on Friday evening, June 13th, at the Wildflour Public House.

We are excited to be working on this project with Brinkley Webb, the founder and leader of the MENOmentum project. Brinkley was honored to be selected as Miss Coos County 2026, and she has committed her official platform to menopause advocacy.

We invite you to support our efforts and be a sponsor of this very special event, which will bring our community together for an evening of laughter and purpose. For more information, visit the website: www.cooshealthinitiatives.org
