Malpelo! Remote, volcanic and the largest no-fishing zone in the Eastern Tropical Pacific!

Malpelo is a remote volcanic island located over 300 miles off the coast of Colombia. It is designated as the largest no-fishing zone in the Eastern Tropical Pacific and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The deep water and various ocean currents make this the perfect place for an extraordinary shark population!

Note: Due to strong currents, this is for experienced divers who have Advanced and Nitrox certifications.

I just can’t believe the weather we are having down here deep in the Weddell Sea. We have reached Gould Bay on Berkner Island which in a few months will be home to the southern most colony of emperor penguins. Now it is a stunning sheet of ice surrounded by shimmering icebergs and brash ice. We just completed an incredible flight and hike…..now to do a dive on these incredible icebergs. Air, Sea and Land….it doesn’t get better than this! Join us on our next Antarctica adventure in January 2026! Thanks for being my models Allyson Dalton and Rich Neely!
