Rail, road, and rolling hills. 🌾🚲

We parked in Ticonderoga, hopped the Amtrak north to Westport with our bikes, and spent the day riding 40 scenic miles back to our car.

What we did:

The Shuttle: We took the Amtrak Adirondack train north from Ticonderoga to Westport with our bikes using their built in bike racks.

The Route: We biked south from Westport back to Ticonderoga, stopping for snacks, to look at farm animals, and at Crown Point State Historic Site on our way. The ride was just around 40 miles with the side quests we went on. The scenery is unmatched

Have you ever taken your bike on the train? Swap the usual loop for a point-to-point journey where the train does the shuttling and the road does the rest.
