Come in costume for a fang-tastic Friday night on Decatur Square full of family-friendly Halloween activities with City of Decatur departments. Enjoy trick-or-treating, face painting, and music before an outdoor showing of Casper (the friendly ghost) at 7 pm on the big screen. Bring your chairs and blankets for the movie.

The weekend you’ve been waiting for has arrived — Oakhurst Porchfest in ! 🔊 From noon to 6 p.m., front porches become stages, yards become venues, and radical generosity and goodwill rule the day. Scour the schedule to make meticulous plans (200+ performances!), then abandon them entirely once you start wandering aimlessly at the whims of serendipity.

Here’s what you need to know:

🚗 Rideshare, MARTA, bike, and walk. Parking is VERY limited.
🌥️ Rain or shine, the show goes on!
🐶 Dogs on leash are allowed. However, different homeowners may have different preferences as it relates to pets on their property.

🚻 Portalets are located at Harmony Park and other key locations.

The circus is coming! The Upside Down World Circus, that is! The one and only Bread & Puppet returns to Decatur on October 16. 🎪 Join the DecaturArts Alliance on the front lawn at Legacy Park for a spectacle of stilt walkers, flags, paper mache beasts of all sizes, many short acts, and a riotous brass band.

The Bread & Puppet Theater is an internationally celebrated company known for its street-theater and political brand of performance.

🥖After the show, Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli, and “cheap art” — books, posters, postcards, pamphlets, and banners — will be for sale.
