Gather your friends, family, blankets, and appetites for Truckin’ Tuesdays at Legacy Park. The area’s best food trucks will offer up delicious fare every Tuesday evening in September (weather permitting) at Decatur’s biggest green space, Legacy Park.

Choose from Hawaiian, comfort food, Middle Eastern, pizza, barbecue, funnel cakes, popsicles. . . full food truck line-ups at decaturlegacypark.com/truckin-tuesdays!

Legacy Park has plenty of space for you to spread out and relax and for kids to run around. Listen to the Frank Hamilton School of Music while you enjoy a tasty bite, or bring your own instrument and play along. Pets are welcome too, but must be leashed.

This Saturday, join the celebration of Black culture and Black joy at Decatur’s Pan African Festival on the newly renovated Decatur Square. Festival-goers can expect a vibrant showcase of African, Caribbean, and African American music, dance, and culture for the entire family from 2-10 pm.

🎶 A diverse lineup of talented performers, including reggae, spoken word, AfroBeats, and hip-hop artists, will perform. Celebrate with African cuisine and browse the festival marketplace of art, clothing, jewelry, and more. The event will have a Children’s Village until 6 pm.

🚲 Attendees can also participate in a self-guided walking tour of the Beacon Hill community on foot or join a special family-friendly, one-hour community history bike ride; meet at Easter Recreation Center at 1 pm.

🎥 And on Friday night, catch the documentary premiere of “Restoring Beacon Hill” at 6:30 pm at the Decatur Recreation Center, 231 Sycamore St.

The festival is FREE and open to the public.

The Pan African Festival is produced by the Beacon Hill Black Alliance for Human Rights () in conjunction with the City of Decatur.
