ATTENTION DENISON SHORT-TERM RENTAL OWNERS!

Starting November 1, 2026, Airbnb and Vrbo will automatically collect and remit the City of Denison's 7% Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) for eligible bookings within city limits and the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).

- No more monthly Avenu reporting for covered bookings
- No more manually submitting HOT remittance forms for covered bookings
- Automatic tax collection and payment directly to the City

This is NOT a new tax or a tax increase! Denison has required HOT collections from short-term rentals for several years. This change simply makes the process easier for property owners while ensuring consistent compliance.

Please note that STR owners remain responsible for applicable taxes on direct bookings or reservations made through platforms that do not collect and remit the City's HOT.

Are you ready for an adventure in France? The Denison Sister Cities Program offers Denison High School students the opportunity to travel to Cognac, France, experience a new culture, stay with a French host family, and build friendships across the world!

As part of the exchange, students will also welcome their French counterparts to Denison and share a little Texas hospitality! 🤠

We Like Ike! Most especially on his birthday. Happy Birthday, President Dwight D. Eisenhower!

Born on October 14, 1890, in Denison, Texas, Eisenhower would go on to become the 34th President of the United States and a celebrated World War II commander.

But before the presidency, the five-star general, and the history books, there was a little two-story frame house in Denison.

Today, the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site gives visitors a glimpse into the president's early life. Explore the modest home, see antique furnishings that reflect the Eisenhower family’s working-class life, and discover memorabilia and exhibits highlighting his remarkable career.
