Just remember: desert nights get cold, too. We’re talking warm layers, cozy evenings, and waking up somewhere that looks nothing like home.

Ready to trade snow boots for hiking boots?

We put together our guide to winter camping in Arizona, including where to go, what to pack, and tips for making the most of your desert adventure.

It’s almost autumn in Acadia National Park 🍂

If seeing New England fall foliage is on your bucket list, now is the time to start planning your Acadia fall road trip. The leaves typically begin changing around the end of September, with peak color generally arriving in mid-October.

And there’s another reason to put Acadia on your fall travel list: it’s one of the most dog-friendly national parks in the country. Dogs are welcome on 100 miles of hiking trails and 45 miles of carriage roads, so your four-legged adventure buddy doesn’t have to miss out. 🐕🍁

Drive the 27-mile Park Loop Road, hike through forests bursting with color, catch the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain, or just pull over and take in those coastal Maine views. Don’t wait until the leaves start changing to make your plans. Reserve your campervan today to make sure you can chase all the colors.

🍂 Colorado leaf-peeping season is coming fast!

If you’re planning a Colorado fall foliage road trip, now is the time to start planning.

This year’s estimated windows are:
📍 Aspen • Crested Butte • Vail: Sept. 12–27
📍 Breck • Dillon • Leadville: Sept. 18–30
📍 Steamboat • Rocky Mountain NP: Sept. 18–30
📍 Telluride • Ouray • Pagosa Springs: Sept. 18–30
📍 Grand Junction • Western Slope: Oct. 1–15
📍 Denver • Boulder • Front Range: Oct. 1–22

But here’s the trick: Colorado’s fall colors don’t follow an exact calendar. They follow elevation. Higher elevations tend to turn first, so if you miss the peak somewhere, you can often chase the color by heading higher or lower.

A few other leaf-peeping tips:
- Visit popular spots on weekdays to beat some of the crowds.
- Check permits before heading to places like Maroon Bells or Rocky Mountain National Park.
- Don’t underestimate the San Juan Skyway (it’s a 236-mile loop worth giving yourself several days to explore.)

And honestly? A campervan is a pretty ideal way to do it. You get a comfortable ride for those scenic drives, something easier to navigate through small mountain towns than a big RV, and the flexibility to change your route when the foliage forecast does.

One catch: fall gets busy FAST. Campgrounds, permits, and campervans can book up well before the leaves reach peak.

Read our full guide to where and when to see Colorado fall foliage → https://escapecampervans.com/blog/where-and-when-to-see-colorado-fall-foliage/

Then book your Escape before the golden rush begins.
