On our last day in Kenya, we finally located a pair of cheetahs. They are the lowest on the food chain out of all the large feline predators in Africa even though they are the fastest. What incredibly beautiful animals.

If you’ve never been to Lake Tahoe, put it on your bucket list. The famously clear water is breathtaking, especially with the contrast to the rocky and forested coastline. Tahoe has no end of activities for families: paddle boarding, tubing, water skiing, biking (they even have a bike park!), hiking, and great restaurants. Its close proximity (relatively speaking) to Yosemite makes it a perfect pairing.

Our trip wasn’t only about the animals. We were so fortunate to meet so many amazing people changing lives in Kenya.

The first photo was from a collective of women from 3 previously warring tribes that came together to make and sell beaded products in order to lift themselves out of poverty, send their kids to school, and stop the fighting. It has been very successful. 🙏

Our boys also got a chance to meet the anti-poaching team at Segera. The group, including the ever female team member, and their crew of bloodhounds hunt down poachers and arrest them. The boys got to try it out, with James being a “poacher” and Aaron walking the dog.

And finally, the lovely professional soccer team at Segera welcomed our family into a friendly soccer game. It was so fun to watch and experience these moments of cultural connection.

In just a couple weeks we’ll be back to our favorite place on earth with friends and making some more amazing memories. ...
