🏆BVC Effect Awards Countdown Series: Category Spotlight

The countdown to our Annual BVC Effect Awards is on!
Each week, we will be highlighting a different award category for the November 18th, 2026 ceremony.

This Week's Spotlight: Kelli Grisham Award
Recipients of the Kelli Grisham Award are recognized for their outstanding commitment to persons with developmental disabilities. They display the , by involving all people, despite their differences, in all things. Nominees should be community members committed to encouraging and supporting people with developmental disabilities in Hancock County. Successful nominees will demonstrate a dedication to helping individuals with developmental disabilities recognize possibilities, pursue opportunities, and achieve personal success as valued members within the community.

We would ❤️ to add to our organization!

Looking for passionate and caring people; male or female; to assist adults with developmental disabilities with the good and the bad of daily living. As a part of the Not an Ordinary Place team you will help add a little bit of magic to these folks' day. We are a very active group! It requires understanding, bringing joy and safety to this very special group of people. The rewards of this career are Inspiring and fulfilling. Salary is comparable with other local agencies and will be discussed at an interview.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Personal Hygiene
Financial Assistance
Assisting with Daily Living Skills and Projects
Driving
Understanding and Compliance with Client Individual Service Plan
Documentation
Providing overall positive and meaningful experiences.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Birth Certificate
Must be 18 years of age
Able to pass a background Check (NOP provides payment)
CPR (NOP can assist and provide payment)
Training courses from the DODD (online and free)(New Training requirements are being evaluated)
Have responsibility, integrity, work ethic and like to have fun.
Must have own transportation (not needed for client interaction)
Ohio Driver's License and Social Security Card.

Benefits:
Can be discussed with an interview.

Schedule
Full time and driving
No night shifts
No weekends
No holidays

A HUGE thank you to the Hardin County YMCA, Hardin Co. Board of DD, Kara Brown, Hardin County DODD Superintendent, Houston Horton and 1879 Electric! They all made this electric changing table work for those with disabilities and our aging folks to assist with changing! Much appreciated! (One in the men's locker room and one in the women's locker room)
