It is difficult to pin point a precise date at which photography was invented, but the consensus is that it was 200 years ago, in 1826 by Nicephore Niece, in Chalon sur Saône, France. So happy anniversary photography, you have captured my life, and I am grateful to Nicephore, Louis Daguerre all the ingeneers at kodak and elsewhere, and my mentor Denis Brihat, who refined the process, and allowed me to work in this medium with a satisfying degree of quality.

Here is one photograph that illustrates what i write here, it was shot in Paris in 2009, a pure accident, and is a tribute to Photography (this is in front of the European House of Photography) and beyond that to its Pope, Henri Cartier-Bresson. HCB wrote that photography for him “is the alloy of geometry and emotion,” the most genial definition of photography I know, and one that I aim to live by.

Cool Tour January 2027:

The Cool Tour 2027, Jan 1 - 10, is an epicurean retreat. Brittany will be a communion with the ocean. We will live in frontal view of it and will stroll daily along the ocean path. Our food will also mostly come from that ocean, super fresh seafood expertly prepared. After Brittany there will be Paris in all its glory, and at last somewhat returned to its roots, more than ever the city of lights.
