EXPERIENCE ENTERPRISE and you’ll find an endearing community that thrives on an enchanting combination of Southern traditions and contemporary style. Enterprise, with a population of almost 30,000, continues to be one of the fastest-growing cities in Alabama, thanks to the enduring spirit of the people. That spirit is reflected in the diverse local economy, serving to preserve the city’s rich heri

tage while also embracing the high-tech, job-producing aviation and automotive industries. Providing a great education is a priority in Enterprise, where the award-winning school system has a long-standing tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities and the arts. Enterprise is a rather small city, but it’s anything but a sleepy little town. It is usually humming with fun and satisfying activities such as youth sports tournaments, concerts and plays sponsored by the Coffee County Arts Alliance, fun-filled festivals along Main Street Downtown, at our Farmers Market and at Johnny Henderson Family Park. Our charming, vivacious downtown and the outlying shopping centers feature unique locally owned boutiques, contemporary retail stores and a variety of dining choices from fine cuisine to ice cream treats. Many residents and visitors alike are drawn to the Pea River Historical Society’s Museum, as well as the downtown mural that tells the story of the Boll Weevil, an evil pest responsible for giving Enterprise its footnote in world history. The famous Boll Weevil Monument, the only monument in the world that pays tribute to a pest, graces the intersection of Main and College streets. The beautiful Grecian lady holding the pest is a focal point and the city’s most popular attraction. The Southern Broadway Dinner Theatre, and local art and music events provide numerous cultural arts opportunities in the city, and Enterprise has beautiful parks with walking trails, splash pad, athletic fields, picnic areas, disc golf course, dog park and a number of playgrounds. The Enterprise Farmers Market helps bring fresh, healthy produce to the tables of local residents. With this and so much more to offer, Enterprise is well worth the experience.

💙 Visit Enterprise extends our sincere condolences on the passing of former Police Chief T.D. Jones. His dedication to protecting and serving this community helped make Enterprise not only a great place to live, but also a welcoming place to visit. His legacy will continue to shape the experience of all who come to discover our city.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Police Chief T.D. Jones. Chief Jones dedicated more than 40 years of his life to law enforcement, including over two decades of faithful service to the City of Enterprise, Ala..

He was a steady leader for our police department, a devoted public servant, and above all, a family man who cared deeply about this community. His impact will be felt for years to come, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and served alongside him.

On behalf of the City of Enterprise, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time.” - Mayor William E. Cooper

It’s never too early to plan a holiday getaway to Enterprise, where traditions, community, and holiday spirit is always in season!

The City of Enterprise, Ala. and the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce have announced a swap in dates for two of the community’s most cherished holiday events. 🎄

This year, the city's annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held earlier in the week, on Tuesday, December 2, at the Enterprise Farmers Market, while the annual Enterprise Christmas Parade will take place on Thursday, December 4 in Downtown Enterprise.

The date change, approved by the Enterprise City Council at the May 6 following a request by the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, moves the parade from its traditional Tuesday slot to the Thursday after Thanksgiving. The tree lighting, typically held after the parade, will now take place before it.

“We want everyone to be aware of the new schedule this year and come out to enjoy both of these special celebrations,” Mayor William E. Cooper said. “These events mean a lot to our community, and we hope to see families and friends turn out in full force to support them as we begin the holiday season together.”

The Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted by the City of Enterprise, will also feature “Christmas at the Market” with local vendors offering holiday goods and treats. More details will be announced this fall.

“Last year’s tree lighting at the Farmers Market brought so much joy,” Cooper said. “Seeing the children running around, visiting Santa, and families supporting local vendors was a highlight of the season,” Mayor Cooper added. “Hearing festive holiday hymns and watching the crowd join in on the ever-popular ‘12 Days of Christmas’ sing-along made the night even more special. We’re excited to continue this tradition at the Enterprise Farmers Market.”

Two days later, the annual Enterprise Christmas Parade, coordinated by the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate the theme “Christmas Around the World,” highlighting holiday traditions from across the globe.

“The parade has become a signature event of the holiday season in Enterprise, and we’re looking forward to another great turnout, this year on Thursday, Dec. 4,” Cooper said. “Riding in the parade and seeing the streets lined with familiar faces as well as so many visitors is something I truly enjoy. It’s a powerful reminder of the spirit and pride in our community.”

For questions about the parade, contact the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce at (334) 347-0581.
