Meet Amanda Brooks, founding member of the Last Frontier Mushing Co-op!

Amanda started Golden Grit Kennel in 2017 from her off-grid yurt in Two Rivers, Alaska. Her team of 21 Alaskan Huskies includes champions of the Yukon Quest 1,000 and Copper Basin 300, plus a mix of golden oldies and special needs pups.

Amanda has a soft spot for dogs that need extra care, and her kennel is a true home for all. She loves sharing her passion for dog mushing and the adventurous spirit of the sport with guests, offering an unforgettable experience in Alaska's wild beauty.

🐾 Meet Frog & Reynolds, our powerhouse brother and sister duo at the front of the team! 💪🐕 These two seasoned champs of Tukaway Sled Dog Kennel are the heart and soul of Chase's crew, leading with skill, speed, and a ton of love for the trail. ❄️❤️

Fun fact: Lead dogs aren’t just fast—they’re also super smart! 🧠⚡ They need to be quick on their paws and able to understand their "Gees" ➡️ and "Haws" ⬅️ voice commands from their musher to keep the team on the right path. And these two? They're pros at navigating through all kinds of terrain! 🏔️🌲

Plus, check out their custom-made harnesses—designed for ultimate comfort and performance because our dogs deserve the very best! 🎽✨
